I went down to Seattle/Tacoma in Washington today, even though I was still tired from the Oppo meet last night. On a whim my Dad and I decided to go to Lemay “America’s Car Museum” and see what it was all about.

Apparently, Lemay is the largest car museum in North America. They have a “Heroes of Bavaria” exhibit celebrating 75 years of BMW racing heritage.

After Lemay, we went back to Seattle and had lunch/beer at Elysian’s Capitol Hill location.

If you’ve made it this far, I have a favor to ask. Can anyone recommend a good DSLR for less than $1000CDN so probably $700USD? (Electronics cost more in Canada, even when you compensate for the exchange rate).

Wow, that is quite a collection!

Regarding the camera, maybe buy during your next trip south. If you get a good enough deal you can ship the manuals and accessories and still make out. Snap a bunch of pics, doubt they’d even think to question it.

I won't tell.

I’ve had it for something like 2 years but have barely had the time to play with it. Hoping I can find time to take it on a few drives this summer but it’s a really easy camera to learn, compact, has a built-in flash (plus can take accessory flashes/lens, etc) and takes damn good photos (even on Auto!). The stock lens is very nice as well for general shooting....price is very reasonable too, definitely within your budget! They can do HD video and are great at taking pics of things that are moving as well. Mine was a gift from mom a few years ago and I love it! Go for one in red....I do think they do look sortof cool, but on the plus side they tend to be cheaper because everybody seems to want the black model as it is less ‘flashy’!

Some example pics - very clear and bright shots when I manage to get the settings right ! (Keep in mind they could probably be even clearer as I am by no means a pro and am very amateur!)

Pictures look good! I'll check the camera out. I love stuff that is cheaper because of the colour. I have a yellow vacuum cleaner because it was on sale and the other colours weren't.

I think more things NEED color....everything is black or silver or gray or white these days....good luck on the purchase, whatever you get! :)

I just thought at $350-400 vs the $700-$1000 you were thinking, it would be a great option! :D
